Fifteen minutes into my shopping, I found myself staring blankly at the beauty aisle.

Wide-eyed and confused.

Houston, we have a problem.

How do people manage to walk in and walk out of the store with a handful of items?

Are they related to Barry, because they do it in a flash?

I’ll tell you the rest of the story later, but first…

Have you ever wanted a super nice face scrub but you can’t seem to find the perfect match?

Oh, honey, you’re not alone.

There’s just so many to choose from and you can’t even find which one is the best fit for you.

I never really had any beauty routines, to be honest.

It never occurred to me how important it was.

I was the soap and water kind of girl. That was enough skin cleansing for me.

If it’s good enough to clean my body, it’s also good enough for my face.

But I’ve been wrong all along.

The skin on our face and neck is thinner compared to the rest of our body.

So when we take care of them, we have to do it delicately.

Okay, back to the story…

Fifteen minutes into my shopping, I found myself staring blanking at the beauty aisle.

Wide eye and confused.

Houston, we have a problem.

There are a lot of face scrubs displayed and a lot more to consider!

I was torn between crying out for help or holding my ground on being a strong, independent woman.

Like, come on! Why can’t I just get 2 or 3 choices so that there’ll be fewer options I can eeny meeny miny moe?

You know the struggle.

You don’t know if you should choose the expensive ones (because they say the more expensive it is, the better the quality)

But then again, are you really paying for the quality of the product or the brand?

Okay fine, let’s choose the cheaper brands.

But then, if you choose the cheaper ones, is it really worth your money?

I spent a full hour just trying to decide which product to buy.

Ended up going home empty-handed.

Good thing there’s always the great search engine ready to answer my queries.

So I did a bit of digging and found amazing face scrubs I can make in the comforts of my home.

Did you know that you actually have most of the ingredients just lying around your cupboard?

Some of it, you didn’t have a second thought of reusing so you just mindlessly throw it away.

What’s crazy is that it’s not only you who has done it.

Most people don’t have any idea that they’re throwing away gold!

Well, you came to the right article because I’ll be telling you that that ‘trash’ you’re thinking of throwing might actually be a treasure.

I used to throw my coffee grounds away immediately after I used them but I found out that it still has more benefits other than giving you that well-needed energy boost.

Coffee grounds make an amazing exfoliator because of its grainy texture. It’s a perfect tool to help scrub away dead skin cells and dirt.

It Scars, It’s Unnecessary, It’s Uncomfortable, It’s Acne.

Most of us struggled with acne, that’s a fact.

Basically, acne happens when your pores are clogged with dirt and dead skin, and oil buildup.

I know! Gross!

But hey, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying hygiene is not your top priority.

But what is acne and what causes it?

Most of the time, it’s too much of that cleansing or stress or even your diet, that causes your acne breakouts.

The good thing about coffee scrub is that it helps clean out your clogged pores by gently exfoliating it.

Yogurt contains lactic acid, B vitamins, zinc, and calcium.

So do you remember what lactic acid does to you?

Lactic acid helps in reducing the visible fine lines and acne.

Its exfoliating properties transform your skin from being dry to softer, younger-looking skin.

Oh, just 2 cheeks? You sure about that?

If you’re one of the people who are gifted with thick thighs and a plump behind then girl, bless you.

And just know, I’m jealous.

But sometimes, these gifts come with a bit of a hiccup.

Yep, cellulites.

Okay, I’m just going to tell you this, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with cellulites!

You’re not alone, most women have it.

You think that those ladies in the magazine don’t have it?

Nope! They have it too.

But I know that it usually causes insecurity especially when there are nonstop ads on how to get rid of cellulites.

So, I’m here to help lessen that insecurity over a cup of coffee.

The most powerful ingredient of coffee is caffeine

Caffeine can help dilate blood vessels which then makes your skin supple.

The Not-So-Fine Lines

In this day and age, free radicals are ever so present no matter where we are. That’s one of the reasons why our skin tends to age fast.

Remember the importance of antioxidants in reducing the visible signs of aging?

Of course, you do.

Well, amazing fact about coffee is that it’s jam-packed with antioxidants.

If it’s good enough for your body, it’s good enough for your skin right?

So go ahead, don’t be shy. Pamper your skin with our coffee scrub.

Why not try our Coffee Scrub with Coconut Oil Recipe.

Coffee Scrub with Coconut Oil

¼ cup Ground Coffee

¼ cup Coconut Oil

¼ cup Brown Sugar

5 drops of Essential Oil (optional)

STEP 1: Combine Ground Coffee and Brown Sugar in a bowl.

STEP 2: Add Coconut Oil into the mixture.

STEP 3: Slowly add Essential Oil (optional).

STEP 4: Blend well and apply all over your body.

STEP 5: Massage for 10 minutes and let it stay 5-10 minutes.

STEP 6: Wash off with lukewarm water.

Coconut oil and coffee have antioxidant properties, so if you’re looking for a way to reduce that early signs of aging, then this coffee scrub with coconut oil is awesome for your skin.

So what’s the best kind of coconut oil to use?

Now, remember, you’ll be using this scrub on your skin so go look for virgin coconut oil or the unrefined ones.

Why is that, why not the refined ones?

I used to date a guy a few years ago and although the relationship didn’t last long, I learned a few things from him.

A little background about him; he loved scuba diving, yoga, cooking, and eating apples with peanut butter for breakfast (Haha! Yep! Trust me, the combo is surprisingly good!)

He’s really conscious of what the ingredients he uses when he cooks. One point that I got from him was that when looking for ingredients, always choose the freshest of the bunch.

And if you can’t find it, choose the one that is closest to its natural state.

Not only will your meal taste so good, but you also get to enjoy more nutrients.

This is why virgin coconut oil is the best especially when you have really sensitive skin.

Puff, Puff, and Eye-way! Cause you know, for Puffy Eyes!

Ugh, puffy eyes!

Remember those sleepless nights where you’ve been twisting and turning just to get that well-advertised beauty sleep? But failed miserably?

And then to top off that misery, when you’ve managed to get some Zzzs and still manage wake up looking like a trash panda.

So what’s with coffee and getting rid of puffy eyes?

Well, I would want to tell you that it’s a one-time miracle worker that gets rid of puffy eyes forever.

It’s not.

Puffy eyes are usually genetic. Most often it’s because of aging.

But no worries!

There’s a way of reducing puffy eyes.

The skin around your eyes is thin and so when aging comes, if not taken care of properly, there would be fat and excessive liquid buildup around it.

The caffeine found in coffee scrubs also has anti-inflammatory properties.

So when used properly and religiously, it will definitely help reduce the visible signs of puffiness.

Coffee Scrub with Green Tea

¼ cup Ground Coffee

1 tea bag Green Tea

2 teaspoons Epsom Salt

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

2 tablespoons Jojoba Oil

STEP 1: Brew your Tea in a cup and set aside.

STEP 4: Blend well and apply all over your body.

STEP 5: Massage for 10 minutes and let it stay 5-10 minutes.

STEP 6: Wash off with lukewarm water.

Honestly, I’m not really a huge fan of tea.

The only tea I drink is iced tea and I’m not even sure if that counts.

Ha-ha *nervous laugh*. Please don’t go for my neck!

I’m a coffee chica and yes, I’m obsessed with it.

It’s useful to know that tea, specifically green tea, has a lot of health benefits.

Just like coffee, green tea is rich with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

You know by now that antioxidants and anti-inflammatory are vital to combat the signs of aging so I won’t be discussing it further.

But antimicrobial is new.

When an ingredient has antimicrobial properties, this is automatically an additional advantage for us.

Not only are you helping your skin be healthy and supple but you’re also helping it fight microbes.

It’s hard to eat soup with a fork, but it’s even harder to fight an invisible enemy.

By the way, just curious. Do you drink soup or eat it? A penny for your thoughts on this, Don’t forget to comment your answer, and let’s see what the others think!

Coffee Scrub with Shea Butter

¼ cup Ground Coffee

3 tablespoons Shea Butter

3 tablespoons Salt

2 tablespoons Coconut Oil

10 drops Essential Oil

STEP 1: In a bowl, melt Coconut Oil and Shea Butter together. Mix well.

STEP 2: Add Coffee and Salt to the mixture.

STEP 3: Blend well and apply all over your body.

STEP 4: Massage for 10 minutes and let it stay 5-10 minutes.

STEP 5: Wash off with lukewarm water.

Shea butter is known for its fat content. This helps nourish the skin and make it softer.

This is great news to those of you who are prone to having dry and cracked skin.

What about the oil component in shea butter, won’t it clog my skin?

Don’t worry about it clogging your skin because this is less likely to happen.

Well, the oils in shea butter are quickly absorbed into your skin and it locks the moisture in making your skin soft and supple.

Although, if you’re prone to acne, it would be best to steer clear of shea butter because it might cause breakouts. Try the Coffee Scrub with Greek Yogurt instead.

Coffee Scrub with Aloe Vera

¼ cup Ground Coffee

3 tablespoons Aloe Vera

5 drops Essential Oil (optional)

STEP 1: Mix Coffee and Aloe Vera in a bowl.

STEP 2: Slowly add Essential Oil (optional).

Have you ever had nights where you just can’t sleep?

I’ve had a lot of those lately.

Well, it probably is caused by a distant secret lover who can’t stop thinking about me.

It probably is caused by excessive sleep during the afternoon.

Well either reason, those sleepless nights would have me browsing on my phone, watching some 5-minute hacks.

There was this one hack that showed a frozen aloe mix that can be used to soothe sunburnt skin.

Everyone probably knows this by now.

I, for one, have definitely used this hack when I got burnt by the fiery spews of the underworld while frying.

It’s great at soothing, and hydrating the skin because it contains about 98% water.

Did you know that Aloe has been used to treat a vast range of skin conditions like burns, frostbites, and even psoriasis?
